What are Lifting and Conveying Equipment?
Lifting and conveying equipment are machines and equipment that are permanently used in factories, businesses, and production facilities for lifting loads, personnel, and materials, moving them from one place to another, and stacking them, and which, due to their structure, pose a significant risk in terms of workplace conditions.
Lifting and conveying equipment are work tools that must be used and kept under control and supervision due to their use and presence in close proximity to personnel within the workplace. Neglecting these controls results in tragic accidents.

Is periodic inspection mandatory?
The requirement for periodic inspections of lifting and conveying equipment is specified in Section 2.2 (Lifting and Conveying Equipment) and its subsections under Article 2. Periodic Inspection of Work Equipment Subject to Inspection in Annex III of the Regulation on Health and Safety Conditions in the Use of Work Equipment.
Who Can Conduct Periodic Inspections?

How Often Should Periodic Inspections Be Conducted?
Periodic inspections of lifting and handling equipment may be conducted at intervals specified by the manufacturer if not stipulated by standards. If no such specification exists, inspections should be conducted at intervals determined by occupational safety experts based on risk analyses considering the workplace environment, frequency of use, and duration of use. The determined frequency of periodic inspections must not exceed the following maximum periods.
If no period is specified in the standards for lifting and/or conveying equipment, a maximum period of 1 year should be determined.
